*edit: The folks leaving reviews saying this lake is inaccessible are wrong (maybe they went the wrong way?). It's absolutely worth scoping out! Scott's Flat is great and all, but nothing beats the seclusion, serenity, and quiet of this hidden gem (plus, no entrance fee). Like others have said, parking is kind of weird but if you use your noggin, you'll figure it out :) Will be visiting Lower Scott's Flat way more often now that I know how accessible and peaceful it is!

Another great day to be alive and free exploring God's country. Searching for another lake close to home. Starlight and I came in from the backside off Pasquale rd. We need to find another way in not too accessible from Pasquale rd 🙏. Too many signs signs everywhere signs _____ing up the scenery breaking my mind do this don't do that can't you read the signs.

Serene and secluded but very limited beach space, be ready to share. Also, need high clearance vehicle.
About Lower Scotts Flat Lake
Nestled quietly amidst the lush greenery of Nevada County, California, Lower Scotts Flat Lake emerges as a tranquil haven for those in search of solitude and untouched nature. Unlike its more popular counterpart, Scotts Flat Lake, this hidden gem provides a serene escape with no entrance fees and a promise of peace. The lake, with its vibrant green hue, serves as a sanctuary for wildlife, including playful beavers and an array of birds. The small beach areas may require sharing, but they offer a cozy ambiance perfect for a relaxing day under the sun. Outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate the opportunities for kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding, with the lake's calm waters providing a perfect backdrop. Anglers can find peaceful spots along the shoreline to cast their lines and enjoy the lake's bounty, making fishing a viable activity here. Accessibility can be a bit tricky, and adventurers might need a high-clearance vehicle to navigate the unmarked paths leading to the water. Despite the challenges, visitors often find the journey rewarding, with the lake's secluded charm more than compensating for the less-easy access paths. For a serene getaway where nature is the star, Lower Scotts Flat Lake stands as a reminder of the quiet beauty away from bustling crowds.
