Lots of RVs here so it's hard to find a spot if you're traveling mini. The spots are large but just make sure you're on a site because of fire restrictions. You will need to restrict campfires to campgrounds only. Also noisy with the sounds of ATVs all day into the evening. However, the view and tranquility in the late evenings and sunrise is not to be missed. The lake filled in with rushes, meadow grasses and wildflowers but the ducks still flock here in the cool and dusk of the day. One of my faves and worth a few days. Dispersement camping area.

There are quite a few places to camp. Took a 37 ft Class A with tow and found a nice place. Road does get narrow but it is really peaceful . Will definitely come back again if in this area .

Fun camping. Watch for snakes in the tall grass
About Coleman Lake
Nestled in a vibrant natural setting, Coleman Lake is a charming destination for anyone seeking both serene landscapes and exciting outdoor activities. Despite some challenges like crowded areas due to the popularity among RV travelers, particularly those with large vehicles, the lake offers a special kind of solace at dawn and dusk. As the sun rises and sets, the waters come alive with the gentle visibility of ducks amidst rushes, meadow grasses, and various wildflowers. Camping here is a diverse experience, with plenty of free dispensed sites available, allowing you to enjoy the scenery at your pace, whether you're in a massive Class A RV or a more modest camper. The peace of the night combined with star-lit skies makes camping truly rewarding. While the road to the campsite may sometimes narrow down, it adds a sense of adventure for those willing to explore. Be prepared for the vibrant sounds of ATVs during the day, a stark contrast to the tranquility that engulfs the area during other times. Campfires are to be contained within designated areas due to fire regulations, ensuring safety for all. While the lake itself has become rush-filled with what remains of its waters, the environment still promises beautiful scenes worth capturing as keepsakes of your journey. Just keep an eye out for snakes in the taller grasses, and perhaps don’t swim as the lake’s water levels are low. Whether you're there for the calm picnics, bird watching, or simply unwinding with nature, a trip to Coleman Lake will leave you with lasting memories.
