There’s only one path to this location and it’s locked up tight behind a fence with a no trespassing sign. Idk who owns it, who locked it up or why, but it’s entirely inaccessible. There’s no information on when or if it’s open either.

My dog refused to step foot in the water—but he dove repeatedly into the frothy, smelly, chunky Rio Grande. I enjoyed the water's color, though. It's a striking turquoise not exactly found in nature. Great if you're a photographer or enjoy pretending to be a photogrqpher as I do. Don't drink it unless you want special powers.

About Portland Cement Reservoir
Nestled away with an air of mystery, the Portland Cement Reservoir offers a blend of surreal beauty and rugged adventure for those willing to trek off the beaten path. Known for its striking, vibrantly turquoise waters, the reservoir is a secret spot that seems only accessible to those 'in the know.' While there is a pathway leading to this hidden gem, it remains locked behind a fence, guarded by a "no trespassing" sign, adding an element of exclusivity and intrigue to the journey. Enthusiastic photographers flock here to capture the peculiar, almost unnatural hue of the water that adds an exotic touch to their portfolios. Adventure seekers will love the challenges of the somewhat off-road journey to get there, complete with the warnings of encountering local wildlife like snakes or the elusive big cats. It’s crucial to tread lightly and respect the environment and private property engrossing this remote reservoir. Cleanliness is upheld by the few visitors who leave no trace behind. The site might be inaccessible now, but it continues to captivate those who dream of discovering its beautiful yet elusive allure.
