Beautiful small lake. Highest in elevation of the cluster of lakes in the area. You are allowed to camp at it (I didn't). Pretty steep trail at some points to get to it, but well worth it

About a 3 or 4 mile hike from Jamison Campground depending on what trail you take. Steep trail with lots of rocks make it fairly difficult and tiring. The end result is a beautiful lake with about 5 or 6 camping spots (fire rings and a place for a tent). Lots of trees and shade with protection from the wind. Caught a few fish without much effort. Small chipmunks and a few deer were the only other animals around. A few small swarms of mosquitoes that hung out near the water in the reeds, otherwise bugs were limited.

About Wades Lake
Nestled in a serene corner of a larger lake district, Wades Lake is the perfect destination for those seeking a tranquil yet moderately challenging retreat into nature. As the highest lake in its cluster, Wades Lake offers spectacular views that reward the hiker after a demanding trek. The trails leading to the lake span between three and four miles from Jamison Campground and are known for their steep and rocky terrain, so be prepared for a workout. Once you pass through the rugged pathways, you'll find yourself at this modest-sized gem, cradled by lush trees that provide ample shade and shelter from any breezes that whisper through the area. Camping is permitted lakeside, with five or six designated spots equipped with fire rings—ideal for those who wish to extend their stay. Casting a line is a rewarding experience here, as fish are abundant and readily bite, making for a leisurely day by the water and a potential fresh catch for dinner. Despite the rugged ascent, the quietude of Wades Lake is only momentarily interrupted by the subtle rustles of chipmunks and the graceful presence of deer, making it a haven for wildlife enthusiasts. While the swarming mosquitoes near the reeds may require some anticipation, the absence of significant bug activity typically ensures a peaceful environment. Wades Lake not only serves as a secluded and picturesque escape but also offers a refreshing journey through nature for avid hikers and campers alike.
