The lake is now a private amenity of the adjacent Life Time Fitness health club. Members are free to swim (popular with triathletes looking for "open-water" practice), plus they have access to paddleboards and kayaks kept on site. Nonmembers can buy a day pass for $25. No diving, no fishing.

This is a beautiful place for a circular walk or run. It is largely a dirt trail with some occasional roots and rocks to negotiate. Trees provide shade for much of the circuit, but not enough to keep from feeling exposed on the hottest days. The trail is not easily accessible to the public, as there is a fence outside the perimeter of the trail. There are combination lock gates for the adjoining apartment complex, gym, and office park. There is a further fence blocking access from the trail to the lake's only substantial dock, which I think is only accessible to gym members. Some mornings you can see triathletes training there.

There’s a car at the bottom of the lake! You can see it if the weather is good and water is clear.
About Quarry Lake
Nestled in a tranquil corner of Texas, Quarry Lake presents a unique blend of natural beauty and fitness appeal. Originally a site frequented by adventurous locals in their youth, this former quarry has evolved into a vibrant fitness hub, now predominantly accessed through a Life Time Fitness membership. The lake serves as an enticing open-water training ground for triathletes, offering swimming opportunities and complimentary paddleboards and kayaks exclusively for club members. With a day pass priced at $25 for non-members, the experience can be worthwhile for those keen on a comprehensive workout. The lake trail, although largely fenced off from public access, promises a picturesque path for running or walking, shaded by lush trees yet not without challenges from roots and rocks. Unlike the public exploits of the past—like the daring rope swing into its cool, refreshing depths—the quarry now boasts more regimented recreational activities. While the lake’s amenities might seem restrictive and somewhat costly, it remains a charming reservoir for those with access, offering a serene escape from urban hustle, all the while preserving its quirky bit of history—a mysterious car resting at its bottom! Whether for a serious athletic endeavor or a leisurely morning by the water, Quarry Lake presents a distinctive setting for both nostalgia and new memories.
