There is a nice bike/running/walking/rollerblading/anything you can think of path that goes around the lake. It is approximately 2 miles from start to finish, although if you want to go further it connects to other Rochester trails. For the most part the city does a great job ensuring you can use the trail system year round. The place just keeps growing there is a new park, a beach, and a new amphitheater. They also added indoor restrooms near the park and beach. There are always people fishing (summer it winter)... Remember this is in Rochester so there is plenty of goose poop!

Great place for taking a walk. However, the sidewalk we used to enter the trail had a tunnel under a busy highway. The tunnel also had offensive graffiti.

Easy access. Paved walking paths. Well maintained. Hooks into other trails in Rochester. Safe feeling. Swimming and fishing. Kids' playground. Benches spaced well. Beautiful sunsets.
About Cascade Lake
Nestled within the vibrant city of Rochester, Cascade Lake is a delightful escape offering a myriad of activities for nature enthusiasts and urban adventurers alike. Known for its expansive paved paths, Cascade Lake is an ideal locale for biking, running, walking, and even rollerblading, making it an integral part of the city's extensive trail system. These trails ensure connectivity throughout Rochester, providing year-round access to outdoor enjoyment. A notable highlight of Cascade Lake is its recent development that includes a beautiful beach, a new park, and an amphitheater that promises a venue for both relaxation and entertainment. The city government has thoughtfully added indoor restrooms near these new attractions, enhancing convenience for visitors. Despite being a popular spot for fishing in both summer and winter, Cascade Lake does grapple with some issues, particularly regarding goose droppings, which can sometimes detract from the overall experience. Additionally, some visitors have noted offensive graffiti in the tunnels under city highways which provide access to the trails. The lake's beach area provides picturesque views and is a favorite for those seeking serene sunsets. However, it does require maintenance to deal with bird droppings, which can occasionally cover large areas. Children are catered for with a playground, although it is undergoing updates and is partially closed. In conclusion, Cascade Lake is a charming urban lake offering diverse activities and attractions, coupled with certain urban challenges that are necessary trade-offs for an adventure in a bustling setting.
