What a beautiful place! Never saw so many eagles so close in one place. They flew so gracefully. The trails are well maintained. There are some trails not marked in Google Map.

Calero is great because it's close to San Jose so getting out on the boat for the day isn't as big of an ordeal as it usually is. The lake is pretty small so if there's a lot of people out on the water it can be super choppy and just impossible to wakeboard. Weekends are usually very busy but we like to go around 5pm on the weekdays for a couple hours before close. There's usually only 1 or 2 other boats out at this time making it ideal for water sports. There's also picnic areas which are great for birthday BBQs or holidays.
