Let me IN. ☹️ Rowena Reservoir is a very picturesque lake that provides a 360-degree view of the neighborhood. It is owned by DWP, they drained and refurbished with a new 10-million gallon reservoir that is largely underground now, it's fenced off and restricted for public access (for at least 9 yrs) despite strong protests from the locals to open it. DWP explained that chlorination and electrical equipment made the site too dangerous to open it to the public. Visitors and locals can only ogle this beautiful oasis from the outside the seven foot green fence. Hence, the one star review. Overall, it’s beautiful to ogle behind the fence but you won’t enjoy it to the fullest.

About Rowena Reservoir
Nestled in the heart of Los Angeles, Rowena Reservoir presents a visually striking landscape that promises serenity and beauty from afar. However, despite its allure, the reservoir remains a place of longing for many. Consigned to admiration from behind a tall, protective fence, the reservoir, owned by the Department of Water and Power, is not open to the public due to safety concerns. The site features a 10-million-gallon underground reservoir where chlorination and electrical equipment demand restricted access. Although one cannot step onto its grounds, the 360-degree view of this lush oasis still offers a scenic walk for locals and visitors alike, who often find themselves wishing for a moment of immersion in its tranquil environment.
