Pinewood is a Gated Community of homes with a quaint lake residing in the middle amongst the residences. I have extended family who live in this isle of suburbia and celebrated the last Fourth of July (2019) there. My brother being the 'fishing fool he is' brought a number of fishing poles along with him and managed to catch a smaller Largemouth Bass upon his first cast of his Rod (please, no pun intended). Working his way around the sides of the lake he managed to catch five more Bass. If it matters, the lake is rumored to contain a few Rainbow Trout and Catfish to boot (probably channel Cats). Being a Gated community there is a homeowner's association fee that if you don't pay - they will come out and break your leg's (I'm joking here folks - have a humor). But that is "Par for the Course" for any Well kept place which you live where the grounds are well kept, or buildings services and dwelling's are owned by those living within them or renting them out. I really like this community, living in Bakersfield off & on for over 20 years now, and finally being able to sneak a peek - it's a little gem of a neighborhood in the Farther Southwest of the Street's of Bakersfield!
