Lake Ming.. The boat racing lake. This place is gorgeous! Great for sight seeing, hiking, biking, walking and fishing. Sight-seeing around this lake, it is so brain refreshment and peaceful. Cellphone via spectrum has great signal. Their restroom is cleaned with playground for the kids. Across this lake has golf club area. Lots of ducks. If you ever wanna get away to forget and seeking to refresh you mind and soul, come to this place to walk, hike or bike around. You will be surprised what it can do for you after you sight seeing in this place.

Though it is unsafe to swim in this lake it still a nice place to sort of get out of town without having to go a long distance. There are stocked and mostly clean restrooms here at both entrances. Hiking on the trails all around the lake and beyond is still allowed with the Kern River to the north.

There have been many times when we have been told as a community that it is unsafe to swim in the lake as well as eating fish that are caught here so be aware. Swimming has never been allowed though however, in the 90's there was always a park ranger coming around telling people to get out but now there isn't. Jet skis were banned quite awhile ago but I see them all the time at the loading dock! Great spot for fishing walking jogging and a small kids play area. It's beautiful in the early morning. There are also camp grounds..it is a shame that you can't go to lake Ming anymore without seeing people either drinking on jet skis and I have seen people bathing in it
