Tucked quietly south of Safford, only a few minutes’ drive, is one of the most beautiful riparian reserve in SE Arizona. If you have young kids, bring them here. If you’re a fisherman, rig your lures and get over here. If you’re a bird watcher, what the hell have you been waiting for?! It’s a quiet and peaceful spot. Perfect for a picnic or a charcoal BBQ. Excellent for family pictures. Entry is $10 per car, which goes towards maintaining this pristine little reserve. It definitely deserves a visit.

The cattails have returned. So much for the cleanup of 2013. The state doesn't seem like they take care of this pond until it is overwhelmed and unusable then they brag about it like it's something special. Please do some preventive maintenance so the cattails don't get out of hand and we can fish and enjoy this pond.

I love this small lake. It is a very short walk from the parking lot to the lake. It is generally very quiet. A great place for a picnic, or a little fishing. Or even just getting away for a while. There are largemouth bass and plenty of bluegill. I think that that there are catfish, but I have never caught one. There is supposed to be crappie, but I've never caught one of those either. And trout in the winter. I'm happy with a nice stringer of bluegill.
