It's a perfect meet-up spot for access to 2 amazing yrail systems. GEOREG BUSH PARK to the west and TERRY HERSHEY to the east. A couple of benches and shade. It's a great place for cardio types to park and get on it. I see people fishing here often, but I wouldn't recommend it... one slip.and your body may not be found for a while.

Yes, the two reservoirs of Barker and Addicks were built to offset the flooding of Buffalo Bayou downriver to keep areas like Downtown Houston and the Galleria areas from being flooded away. So, yes, the Army Corp of Engineers will release water off and on. The problem is that crazy developers became greedy and started building homes and Apts. INSIDE the two reservoirs, so yeah they'll flood when water is released. No one was ever supposed to live in a home INSIDE the reservoirs, so yes, your home will flood when water is released. So do your due diligence and MOVE to another, safer area to keep your home from flooding!!! It's not rocket science but more along the lines of earth's physics!!

Needs repair. Dubbed to be in "extremely high risk of catastrophic failure" in 2009. In the wake of 2017's hurricane Harvey, water is being released before the reservoir reaches capacity, flooding thousands of homes downstream.
