A great place to catch redfish without the hassle of a coast trip—plus, you don’t even have to worry about sand in your shoes! The sunsets here are so beautiful, they might just make you forget you’re not at the beach. Nature really knows how to put on a show!

"Calaveras Lake near San Antonio is a fantastic spot for red drum fishing! The best months are March to August, with crawfish as bait. The scenery is beautiful, and the fish put up a great fight. Highly recommended for a memorable fishing trip!"

Not even a single bite on live shrimp bait from the kayak all day. Expensive for no reason. Pass on this lake and go somewhere more worthwhile like Choke, Medina, or Bastrop.
