This lake is an unholy void unique unto itself in its rare combination of visual splendor with souless life crushing fishing. This lake will grant you one or two good fishing days a year, and then will vex all but the most hardened anglers the other 363 days of the year. Unbelievable fish from PA many warm water species exist in the lake but have grown clever with age and stay far from shore and are primarily only accessible to boaters. Shore fishing is limited, but easily accessible fishing is available near the boat launches (North/South/East) as well as the north and South Bridges. The cove accessible from the Northern Boat Launch parking lot (southernmost end) grants access to a short hiking trail around the cove. A little more challenging to fish from shore, but a few spots are accessible. If you continue following the shore south, you will find the mill creek dam. Another small hiking trail is also available from the East Boat Launch, as well as from the North Boat Launch, but neither are notably fishing friendly. There are also some limited fishing options available from the dirt pull offs on the eastern portion of the lake road. Wading is also possible around some of the coves shallower sections. Bird watching is always a fine choice here, with eagles, osprey, and red wing black birds in abundance. A beaver den is located to the far south of the lake. He is reclusive, and not to be trifled with. Beware of biting bugs and enjoy the vistas.

Good size lake, it's an almost 5 mile paddle if you follow the perimeter of the lake. The water is pretty clear, rocky/water grass bottom, 3 boat launches, a dam, and a little pond-ish like section if you go under the road/bridge.

Nice place to go fishing, boats, picnic, and relaxing. Kids will enjoy going there. The outdoors is beautiful. Also good for ice fishing in winter.
