Green slime along the shoreline can't be good . I've been there several times over 2 years. Nice and clean on shore- even with port o potty in handicap area. Good current 50 yards out I've tried all kinds of tackle and bait , but never caught anything except an attitude. I was beginning to think it was me till I spoke with another fellow. I'd love to see the stocking schedule for Moon lake since Covid. This old man won't make that half hour trip soon.

Hidden gem of a park. Great spot for fishing. Even caught some on a ring day. Plenty of parking, few bathroom. Very quiet. The drive is a gravel, no pavements whatsoever.

Great place to go Mtb Riding or Camp. Just make sure to reserve a spot prior to going as it now costs a fee and some spots fill up for the season. Wish the rangers would enforce driving a bit more. People were speeding around the park all weekend when we camped over Father's Day / was not regulated and not safe for mtb riders crossing paths with someone zooming 40mph on dirt roads
About Moon Lake
Moon Lake is a hidden gem nestled in the heart of stunning natural landscapes. Despite the noticeable presence of green slime along the shoreline, visitors frequently comment on the clean, well-kept shores and the tranquility of the area. The lake is popular with anglers, although catching fish can be hit or miss, with some visitors expressing interest in seeing the stocking schedule post-COVID. Fishing remains a central activity, with many enjoying the quiet, picturesque environment conducive to a relaxing day by the water. The surrounding park offers more than just fishing, providing opportunities for mountain biking, camping, and simply slipping into nature's calm embrace. The campground requires reservations, and visitors are encouraged to book in advance as some spots fill up quickly. Once inside, trails wind through the rugged landscape, perfect for biking enthusiasts.
