Beautiful place to take in some fresh air. Even though I didn't fish while I was there, I did see some great spot to relax and fish.
About Grubb Lake
Nestled quietly in the landscaped remnants of an old mine, Grubb Lake offers a serene escape for nature enthusiasts and casual visitors alike. This man-made lake features a lush landscape that integrates seamlessly with the natural environment, making it an ideal spot for both relaxation and mild adventure. Visitors can enjoy a leisurely stroll on the one-mile walking trail that encircles the lake, providing a refreshing trek through wooded areas rich with local flora. Anglers will find Grubb Lake a special delight, with opportunities to fish in its tranquil waters, provided they obtain the necessary permits. With strategically placed benches and scenic overlooks, the trail offers several perfect spots to cast a line or simply soak in the serene surroundings. For those interested in hosting an event amidst this serene backdrop, pavilions can be reserved through West Hempfield township, offering a convenient and picturesque venue. While enjoying the natural beauty, visitors should note some areas of the trail may require attention due to natural wear. Therefore, bringing comfortable walking shoes and staying aware of your surroundings is advisable. However, as is the case with many beautiful, remote areas, it's always good to stay vigilant; some visitors have reported break-ins in the past, suggesting the implementation of additional security measures like cameras in parking areas would be beneficial. Overall, Grubb Lake is a gem for those wanting to escape into nature, whether for a peaceful walk, a family picnic, or a day of fishing. Just remember to take precautions, especially regarding valuables in parked cars, to ensure a day of unwarranted tranquility and enjoyment.
