A protected harbor from the Gulf of Mexico, lines with homes of very kind and friendly residents. The fishing and crabbing use to be really great 25 years ago, but the city's failure to dredge the slit out, and thus the sea grass dying out, you rarely ever see dolphins in the Bayou, where it was a daily sighting.

This is a beautiful area with some historic appeal to it as well. It's just off from Seaside Inn and the Port Richey Hooters. Commercial shrimp boats dock here. They go out just as it begins to get dark and return after midnight with what everyone hopes will be a significant catch. The bayou itself is generally shallow. There are some depth variations that can hold fish. The concern would be fishing the area on a day when there was little boat traffic.

Really excellent food! We went with someone who usually hates seafood but she really enjoyed the fish sandwich--very fresh, in no way "fishy," just delicious.
About Millers Bayou
Nestled near the Gulf of Mexico in Port Richey, Florida, Millers Bayou is a picturesque haven rich in history and teeming with local charm. This coastal bayou provides a tranquil escape from bustling city life, lined with homes whose owners extend warmth and friendliness to visitors. Despite changes in its ecosystem over the years, Millers Bayou remains a delightful destination for those seeking both relaxation and adventure.
