A pleasant pond lined with picnic tables. We visited on a Saturday and it was quite crowded. The water never gets particularly deep and the bed of the pond is quite muddy, but the water is clear and the views of the Sierra Buttes are spectacular. Lower Sardine Lake is a quick walk from the pond. Though the public is not allowed to swim in Lower Sardine Lake, there is a spillway and creek where kids can play (the water levels were very safe when I was there). A pleasant spot.

Another favorite spot to have a lake view of the Sierra Butte. Love the water reflection and the peace and serene surroundings.

My favorite place to go for swimming, it's usually not very windy and has some of the best scenery around. There's an easy hiking trail that needs a little maintenance and then an intermediate one that leads to a different lake. There's also camping a little before the Sand pond and just above is a big lake for fishing exclusively

Beautiful small lake. Fun for the whole family. Some of the amenities... boardwalk tables, etc. have fallen into disrepair.
