We went there to walk our dog. It had amazing trails, picnic benches readily available and restrooms close by

Beautiful little lake right in the middle of Golden Gate park. There’s the Portals of the Past archway on one side of the lake, and a little path over a (sometimes running) waterfall on the other.

Visited this beautiful spot because it was visited in 1912 by Abdu'l-Bahá Abbas, son of Bahá'u'llah, prophet-founder of the Bahá'Í Faith. The pillars, known as "Portals of the Past", are all that remained of one of San Francisco's mansions following the 1906 earthquake and fire. The lawn beyond the shrubbery on the far side of the lake is a lovely, quiet spot for a picnic. We saw four red-tailed hawks circling in the sky above.

Great place to relax, take a short walk around the pond and let the ducks and gulls do the heavy lifting
