A stunning lake nestled near mountains, surrounded by lush greenery in March and early April. It’s a popular spot for fishing, with sightings of large fish carcasses along the lake’s edge means there are big fishes in the lake. Ample parking lots are available, and it’s an excellent location for bird watching. The park remains open until dusk, with a $6 entry fee.

Had a really nice time at this park! There is a $6 entrance fee for the day(until sunset). There are several picnic areas, fishing, hiking, children’s play structures and we saw signs for camping and horse back riding. We had a great time on the trail and came across many hikers. The pond was a nice view and there were many families around enjoying. The drive was also really nice, and there are a couple different parking lots.

It is nice to walk or jog on the trail around this little beautiful man made pond. We saw an egret and other water birds. There are porta-potties everywhere in addition to a restroom building near the gazebo. Some part of the trail is kind of muddy after the recent series of storms. And there start to be yellow wild flowers here and there.

My wife and I love going here to get some peace away from the city. We love the fact that the park allows for multiple activities, like fishing, walking/ running and hiking as well. There's plenty of areas at different levels to sit and enjoy the land from every side. We love looking at the birds and watching the ducks as well. Definitely a peaceful and beautiful area for kids and adults alike!

Because it’s East Bay, the wind that blows over the terrain of the hills gets trapped so when you climb high up, it gets very gusty. However, I think it’s worth it because you get to see the smaller man-made lake and the reservoir. It’s quite pretty to go at sunset and watch the light scatter on the water. It is also a much better vantage point to see the layers and LAYERS of hills on top of each other. It looks really surreal like something out of Lord of the Rings!! There’s a flag pole at one of the higher photo spots and that’s when I usually head back. You can also just take a stroll around the lake if you don’t want to deal with all the scratchy weeds and bugs on the trails, which there are plenty of. The best time to come is March through mid-May while the yellow wild flowers still bloom and before the hills dry up. The bathrooms are right in front of the parking lot and get cleaned frequently. I guess that’s what the $6 parking is for.
