Beautiful mountain lake. A hike in only lake that is pristine due to the remount location. The hiking trail is well maintained and easy to follow. Wonderful for a summer swim and exhilarating. One thing to consider is that their is no shade on the bank of the lake so bring a hat to protect from the sun.

A lil bit of a drive but SO worth it! Nice, quiet, beautiful, with lovely water for those warm summer days. We loved our day trip here so much that we plan on doing a family camping trip soon!

Awesome campground right next to wilderness. Camp host can be a dingbat at times if your not following the rules they're fully justified and fully backed by the green pants to fine your arse. Which is good, keeps the place, clean quiet and civil. Be careful if you leave a crawdad trap out, plenty of other campers to either steal or free the poor suckers.
About Gold Lake
Nestled in the majestic embrace of the mountains, Gold Lake is a hidden gem for those seeking an off-the-beaten-path adventure. Its pristine waters can only be accessed by a well-maintained hiking trail, ensuring that the lake remains a tranquil escape surrounded by the serene beauty of nature. The trail itself is relatively straightforward, allowing hikers of all skill levels to enjoy the journey and the breathtaking views along the way. Upon arrival, visitors are greeted by the refreshing expanse of the lake, ideal for a rejuvenating swim during the warmer months. However, as the location lacks natural shade by the water, sun protection is essential, so remember to pack a hat. For those who wish to extend their stay, the adjacent campground offers an inviting setting for camping under the stars, complete with the soothing backdrop of a wilderness symphony. While the camp hosts are known to be strict enforcers of the cleanliness and quietude rules, this vigilance helps maintain the lake’s tranquility, ensuring it remains a cherished sanctuary for all. However, adventurous campers should be wary of leaving crawdad traps unattended, as human curiosity or mischief can often lead to their unexplained disappearance. Gold Lake is a bit of a drive from more populated areas, but the stunning views, calm waters, and incredible serenity make every mile worth the journey. Whether you're planning a short visit or a family camping expedition, Gold Lake promises a memorable experience amid untamed natural beauty.
