Some of the best views of desolation wilderness and if you're lucky a storm may cross the mountains and give you a mother nature show 😀👊

I can only give 2 stars since we weren't able to make it to the campgrounds as the road to get there via the route given by Google maps has been destroyed by a huge landslide that apparently none of the forest rangers knew anything about. We were still 27 miles from the campgrounds when we finally decided to just pull over at a hydroelectric pump house a d call it a night, had already been driving for almost 3 hours and the it was pitch black. Once we had some daylight this morning we were going to start back on the road to get there when we found out that only about 60 or so feet ahead of where we had parked last night, there had been a huge landslide that has totally taken out all road access in that direction causing us to have no other choice but to turn around. The area is absolutely beautiful up to that point and a ranger that we ran into did say there is another way to get to Hell Hole campgrounds but by then we had to go ahead and start the long drive back home. Those roads are not for anyone that has issues with getting car sick and make sure your breaks are excellent before making the trip. Also it stays hot all day and doesn't cool off much even in middle of the night. Watch carefully for bears and snakes this time of year!
