We will not be returning. They keep the nice campsites locked, so you're stuck paying for waterless campsites. Can't do dishes, wash hands, keep clean. Children got sick due to not being able to keep them washed. Most campsites have no water access due to overgrown grass. And other campers are rude.

Sites are clean. Bathrooms clean. Disc Golf Course with 2 layouts. Great fun kayaking around the lake fishing.

Fishing Report After the cold front last weekend, the crappies have disappeared. Maybe they will come back, but it's up to you to take a chance. Gonna rain this weekend too. If you got a boat, you got a chance of finding them. But if you're shore fishing, you are limited because the gate is closed at the boat ramp so you can't drive past it. Pretty much stuck at the northern section of the lake unless you feel like walking or bring a bike. Blue gills in the area. Bring some worms. And very small bass in the area. Like 6 inches or less. $5 for day use good till 10pm.
About Stony Gorge Reservoir
Nestled in the heart of Northern California, Stony Gorge Reservoir offers a genuine escape into nature's embrace. While the reservoir's scenic views are undeniably enchanting, visiting comes with its share of surprises. The reservoir offers a mixed bag of experiences, with serene kayaking and disc golf being some of the highlights. The kayaking experience at Stony Gorge is a must for any visitor. With calm waters and peaceful surroundings, it's a perfect way to explore the lake's nooks and crannies while enjoying some fishing. Anglers might find a challenge, though, as recent changes in weather have impacted fish activity. While crappies remain elusive, there’s still hope for bluegill enthusiasts. For the unwary fisherman, shore fishing presents limitations, worsened by a closed gate at the boat ramp. Campsites are a crucial component of a perfect getaway and while Stony Gorge does offer camping, the experience is somewhat mixed.
