Great place to swim with no ropes to stop you from going as far as you want. You can also walk around the water to find more access points besides the main area. Lots of water! Dogs love it too but only on weekdays otherwise too many people, or we walk around the path to go somewhere quieter.

A wonderful place for family or alone time. Peaceful, fireplace, gorgeous sunset, fishing, boating, family had a lot of fun.

Swimming area very crowded but once you get further out plenty of room to find your own little picnic spot to swim and relax. Very steep drive to get there so make sure ur boat(s) is well secured. Fun place to spend the afternoon in the water. They have picnic benches and a playground. No lifeguard though.

We were taking a small road trip from SF and decided to drive here to get our feet wet on this very hot weekend. Well we were in for a reality check. The lake has dried up, you have to walk a mile to see a minimal amount of water that is left. Very dry fire area. I was surprised to see that the bbq pits were not removed. There are tables, benches and a play area. Seeing this definitely showed how bad the drought is this year. If you plan on making this drive, know that there is no reason to pack a beach towel and swim trunks, there is no lake to cool off in.

This area is beautiful and a great recreation opportunity for the Cloverdale area. Unfortunately the army core of engineers continues to neglect the facilities similar to how they neglect lake mendocino. I can only hope that our local representatives respond to the cries for improvements and get some traction with the people who make the decisions at the top.
