Amazing place. Beautiful. I kayaked across the lake while a bald eagle flew near a couple of times. The campgroubds are COVID 19 restricted so there aren't any large crowds.. pretty awesome! Great places to swim. The water is cool, but not freezing. They did say the lake level is going to be significantly reduced from July 7-15 for maintenance on the dam. There is a free boat launch near the campgrounds. Boats are restricted to 5mph. Great for fishing, kayaking, and paddleboarding. This is a PG&E managed lake so there is a row of large power lines along the camping side of the lake. After an hour or so they sort of disappear. They are set back far enough to be behind you when you go to the lakes edge. I have seen one review complaining about this, but for us it wasn't an issue for us.

You can catch 50 fish a day at the powerhouse. Tons and tons of trout, bass and catfish. Super easy fishing. I have never seen a better place to fish. Take nightcrawlers and spinners. Don't fish it until June. It's closed before that.
