Reviews of Lake Sikes lake

First impressions were rough. The North end, by the parking lot is full of trash and smells. However, the rest of the lake, the South end, is maintained pretty well.

Sikes Lake is one of the best places in Wichita Falls for walking, running, or bringing your children to ride their bikes. There are tons of geese and ducks, but they generally keep to themselves. A paved mile long trail encircles the lake which has several picnic tables and benches for sitting. It would be nicer though if there were some more trees planted along the trail.

The trail around the lake is a great running spot, it's a little over a mile and is well lit and has emergency phones located nearby. The one downside is the birds tend to get a little fiesty if you run near them, also their droppings are all over the pavement.

Great place for walking, running, or just relaxing. This is also a popular spot for playing Pokemon Go and fishing. There are also lot of ducks and geese here that will come close if you feed them bread.

Great place to just take a walk, a jog or relaxing bike ride. Ducks, geese, grebes, the occasional great blue heron and seagull, and lately, cormorants congregate there by the dozen. Safe, calm and clean.
