Reviews of Lake Lake sweetwater

I was told that Summer 2019 is the first time in years (5) that the water has even been high enough for water activities and to wear water shoes if I get into the water. I was also straight up told not to go into the water because it’s filthy and would kill me. I obviously went into the water, with water shoes, over a week ago and I’m still alive. I do recommend the water shoes because woah- the bottom of the lake does have some garbage on it. Lake sweetwater is probably better for boating and fishing. They have a little play ground area which only looked like it had a 50/50 chance of sending the kids to the ER. Also, we did see snakes- plural.. so you know just tell the kids to stay away from the brush.

The lake is low but my kids don't care. There are a few picnic tables and grills and a swing set. There are public bathrooms near by but bringvyoir own tp.

Beautiful lake. Wonder to see the lake full of water. Last visit it was down about 13 feet.

What can I say about Sweetwater lake 🤔 its not the same when I was little but its a okay lake, they should put a slash pad there or redo the Play area but really a slash pad would be great, something more for the kiddos 😀

I live on the lake, so my opinion is somewhat biased 😀. A highly variable lake, with frequent and prolonged low water periods. When the water level is up, it has excellent fishing and recreational possibilities. As of this date (5-15-2019), the fish population is recovering from a recent lake refilling and past golden algae fish kill.
