Located just down the street from Allegheny General Hospital on the North Side of Pittsburgh, this lake is a beautiful getaway for anyone who is drawn to peaceful feeling of water. Well maintained concrete paths allow you to walk around the lakes perimeter and 2 bridges give you a breathtaking view of what it and the city of Pittsburgh have to offer. Park benches are located along the paths so you can take a break and people/bird/squirrel watch. VERY relaxing! The only thing I think that could improve the experience is if the lake was stocked and fishing was allowed. If you're ever in the area, take some time to visit. ~Peace

I don’t come here often, but when I come, whatever season we’re living in, it feels that we’re transported to a calmer place in the depths of Pittsburgh. A few times a year the city drains the lake to clean it up, which keeps the place healthier for everyone visiting it. I also heard that Lake Elizabeth used to a place for swimming a many decades ago.
