This massive man made lake is privately owned. So when you come too the area, you need to know the fees associated because we were not informed when renting from a different property group near but not part of the lake. Can't understand why there are so many "privately waterfalls and lakes in Pennsylvania" but at least now you have a warning The photos I posted are as close as you can get, and I'm not even sure that was legal. Worse is the baren parking lot and empty areas that a handful of people enjoyed. Bad look

We love Big Boulder Lake. It’s private lake so you need to own or rent for access to the lake, beach and marina, but it’s worth. My younger kids enjoy renting the fishing boats. Something for everyone. And Happy Hour on the beach is great for adults.

When you book here know that you cannot fish from anywhere, but one of their high priced rental boats, unless you bring your own boat. Unfortunately the lake was contaminated with fecal bacteria during half of our visit and you could only "look" at the lake--- even pools were shut down. I wouldn't book here again unless you just want to sit on a balcony and look at a lake. Great for less mobile people. I expected more.

This is a very lovely and charming private lake/pool club. Staff works very hard throughout the day and always pleasant and helpful. Beach and pool area are spotless!!! Went out on pontoon boat which was beautiful and romantic. Side note: the lake water was closedoff for a few days due to high bacteria levels. IDK why ppl give the manager Lisa a hard time about this . When the state of PA mandates closure it is out of her hands and meant for everyone's safety. Perfect family vacay

Decent lake with a bunch of condos/cabins around it for people to rent. I went there in July rented a condo and hit some of the local bike trails and a rock outcrop for climbing. You can bike or run or whatever around the lake which is about 5k (~3-4m) there are a bunch of no trespassing signs on the side by the ski/snowboard mountain but in the out-of-season months it seems you can get away with ignoring them. Unfortunately your supposed to pay to swim at the beach on the lake or rent a boat/ board of some sort if you wanna go out on it ( I’m sure you could also bring your own Kayak or whatever).
