This is the cutest little town. While planning our trip to Destin, Lake DeFuniak kept popping up as a suggested place to visit... we were not disappointed. It was about a 40-minute drive from Destin and worth every minute of it

Great park to stretch your legs on a journey. We played for a minute on the jungle gym and enjoyed the view.

The Christmas lights are so pretty! In the past 5 years, I have been there three times. If you drive around slowly with a few stops to make photos, it takes about 45 to 55 minutes to get done viewing all of the light displays. I recommend that you visit at least once. Some people have said that it isn't worth the time and gas to drive 26 miles to go see this, but I disagree. But you NEED to get there early by 5:45 pm at latest or you may be waiting in a long line of cars for 1 to nearly 2 hours to buy the tickets. Tickets cost $3 per person for adults and seniors. Display is from early December through 1st week of January. Check City of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, website for exact information.

Very cool place here, lake is naturally symmetrical. No one knows for sure but it is believed to have gotten its natural shape from a large meteor, either way it is natural. Cool place to check out if you are in the area.
