Best lake in mendocino county. Named after the county because of this. Sailing on this lake is fun when the wind is blowing. When it isnt a kayak or paddleboard are also fun. Camping, picnic areas, day use areas and family areas with playgrounds. This lake is underappreciated for its time. See it while you can. Run by corp of engineers who can at any time close areas off for any reason. Being under budget areas remain closed because of staffing. This affects all services but its still, the best lake in mendocino county. 5 stars.

Beautiful camping area

A great recreational place in Ukiah. We liked kayaking. The walk in the dam is quite pleasant.

I love hiking the trails along the lake. The old winery is very interesting.
