I wanted to be selfish and keep this gem to ourselves 😇. It is a very quiet place to fish and enjoy time with the family. Most of the fish caught here are carps and catfish. The Lake rents out pontoons.

Nestled within Lake Henshaw is "Monkey Island" (see pics). It was originally called "Monk Island" because Monks lived among the local Indians who inhabited the area in the 1800's. After the dam was built, the Lake was so vast that it covered from mountain to mountain with only the island sticking above it. It has long been a favorite fishing spot and beautiful scenery throughout the area.
