We always have an amazing experience here. The hiking is beautiful, the lake has many great fishing spots and the campsites are spacious and clean.

What an incredible beautiful place to dip your feet in. It was cold last week when we visited but we still enjoyed water activities here. There is a day use fee $5 in some spots. When you enter via main Sly park entrance it is $15 and you can explore trails. Camping is nice here. Kids loved water activities. Pit toilets at camping areas. Dogs allowed. Miwok nature trail is cool.

Beautiful lake if you visit right time of the year. We were there mid May on Friday afternoon, and the weather was nice, only a few peoples were there, and scenery was nice. Summer weekend can be very crowded.

The water was fine, the Indian music people played wasn't. But I had a good time because me, a friend, and my cousin all went kayaking. What made it even better was that me and my friend tied my cousin's kayak to a tree on the other side of the lake, and then we paddled away as fast as possible. It was hilarious, I remember looking back and seeing her capsize the boat while trying to untie it lol

The lake itself and the surrounding beauty is easily worth five stars. However, it can be extremely busy and the crowds detracted from the experience for me. We ended up only hiking a short distance and finding a spot off the trail to setup blankets and have a picnic. So if you go and want to similarly avoid the crowds, I recommend try going early in the morning, during the middle of the day during the week, or during other times that may not be as popular.
