We called it a little heaven on earth. Super quite. Although no swimming signs are everywhere, but we have seen several other activities nevertheless. Like fishing which we saw quite a few people enjoying. Also, several trails are available for the hiking / biking enthusiasts. Several people were just enjoying the stunning views of the water surrounded by these gorgeous hills, while listening to the tiny surface waves sounds along with the breeze. Parking there is free which is a plus; many parks charges for parking nowadays, not a big parking lot though. There is also a few Vista points where you can park then take a short walk down to the shore. Or get under a tree and enjoy the view from above. There is a medium sized peninsula dividing part of the reservoir into two, you can get there by parking in the main parking lot, then take a nice walk along the shore to the right. It is a very picturistic reservoir if you are into that, the pictures I attached were taking by a cell phone and some are HDR enhanced. Nice pictures can be taken specially at sunset and I would think sun rise also. Even during the day, it still looks great. The road leading into it if you are coming from the south is gorgeous as well. It is a bit curvy for some at times. In your way you will catch nice views of vineyards. After all you are in wine country. Lots of wine tasting apportunities around the reservoir. When the reservoir gets narrower then turns into a creek, that is where it turns into a private property. You will see the fence stretching across the water and surrounding the water. There are signs there to note that neither fishing nor swimming is allowed is that area. When the water level is low, you can actually cross to the other side of the reservoir then you can see both sides of it. There is also a nice little dam, I think you are able to walk on top of but you can't drive a car over it.
