Last year , during a long weekend in Julian, CA, we made a stop at Lake Cuyamaca, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. The views around the lake were stunning, and we spent several hours fishing. My son and daughter were thrilled to catch the fish, adding to the joy of the experience. It's a fantastic spot for a family outing, and we highly recommend it!

beautiful place in autumn. went there in late October after heading to Julian, some leaves turn red/yellow. romantic fall color. bbq place and fish catching place. long walk if you follow the whole trail but you can also do a short walk, just turn back after crossing the bridge and seeing the fall leaves trees, ~45mins one way walk.

It’s the perfect spot to unwind and escape the noise of everyday life. The lake is well-maintained, and I was really impressed by how clean everything was. The abundance of fish made it a great place for fishing enthusiasts like me—definitely a plus! This is one of my absolute favorite places to stop when I am in the area. It's very popular in the summer. I think the view in the winter is spectacular. I usually rent a pass for the day so we can park our car and relax for a few hours. Renting the boats is a lot of fun, too. I was allowed to take my bulldog on the boat, and she had an absolute blast. Even if you do not spend a lot of time in the area. Pulling over and viewing the lake is worth it.

I want to give this place five stars. The views are amazing. The campground are quite at night. Lots to do around the area and great hiking trails. Why not give stars, the people at the check in area where all rude. Everytime we had to go in there making it uncomfortable to walk in, from checking in, getting ice and bait. If they can get some decent help this place would have been perfect. The camp host was amazing.
