LOVE this trail! Started at molino basin around 6:30am. Beautiful and serene the entire trail. Lush and green when you get to the reservoir. Definitely a long and warm one-lots of sun exposure. Lil grass hoppers and dung (I think?) beetles roaming around. Some sort of species of yucca has funny lil fruits I had never seen before!

Beautiful trail. I like entering to the Santa Catalina by the Gordon Hirabayashi campground. You feel really remote and that is a good way of experiencing wilderness. Turn right and follow the arizona trail to go to the Sycamore reservoir and follow the trail until you reach the wilderness area. I really enjoy this trail. Wildlife is awesome there. At the reservoir if you want to go further follow the trail and turn left at the intersection marked by some rocks. This shortcut leads you to the bear canyon trail and to thimble peak. One of my favorite places. Truly beautiful. Bring plenty of water because you will need to hike up 2 miles back from the reservoir to the Gordon Hirabayashi area. I did a backpacking trip yesterday. Sunset time is gorgeous. Enjoy.
