Best weekend picnic spot, Watching a tallest fountain is always a treat. A huge pathways for morning and evening walks. Such a clean lake with lots of ducks and tortoises, fun for kids. Fountain starts at each clock hour for each 15 mins. Sunset behind the mountains around is amazing to watch. Lots of trees, greenery and sitting benches around.

Why is fishing not allowed? I understand that the water is reclaimed and I wouldn't eat the fish I caught, I think that is common sense. But if fishing isn't safe for the health of those doing it how safe is it to shoot the reclaimed water 100 feet into the air as families walk and play around the lake side to see the fountain? It seems to me like us anglers are missing a great fishing spot due to the powers that be deciding what is acceptable for our health as the fishermen of AZ but your families health is okay for you to decide on individually without the intervention of government. Just food for thought. 1 star for not allowing me to fish.

One of the best places in Arizona. I went to Fountain hills for a doctor's appointment whose clinic was very close to this lake. After my doctor's appointment I went to this lake for a quick stroll but ended up spending an hour there and admiring how beautiful this fountain lake is. I also went to this lake again with a friend for a picnic the next week. It was fun!

Very very beautiful expansive lake. I enjoyed seeing the statue of the stork in the lake, as well as the ducks floating happily about. It was also interesting to see the islands in the middle of the lake as well- saguaros and green vegetation there, with the birds resting...(seemed like an oasis- bird paradise!) The only turnoff is there was a sign that the lake was reclaimed wastewater...Knowing that made the lake feel a bit icky... If you do come to this lake, I would reccomend doing it around sunset. This way, the fountain is turned on and you get a nice view, and avoid the heat. If you come too early in the morning, the fountain isn't on, and then you have this huge wooden circle- where the fountain is supposed to sprout from- just floating in the lake like an eyesore ;)

We went there for the big arts and craft show that happens twice a year in Feb and Nov. Its right by the fountain. Great time. The fountain is beautiful.
